So, it’s official…

New Adult
The Ghost and the Goth author Stacey Kade’s debut 738 DAYS, about an abducted teen who, at nineteen, two years after her return home, is still suffering from anxiety and agoraphobia when a publicity stunt throws her together with the former TV heartthrob whose poster was her only friend in captivity, raising the possibility that they might be the only ones who can save each other, to Whitney Ross at Tor, in a good deal, at auction, in a two-book deal, by Suzie Townsend at New Leaf Literary & Media (NA).

I’m ridiculously excited about this book and the opportunity to work with Whitney and Tor! Thank you, Whitney! 😀

This is one of those ideas I jotted down in my journal years ago—2010 to be exact—but figured would never come to pass. It’s dark, difficult, romantic, and hopeful…and a bit twisted.

And yet, it was also one of those ideas that wouldn’t let go. On my morning walks, when I was supposed to be thinking about my current work in progress, I’d find thoughts of these characters and this scenario sneaking back in, even years after the original idea.

I’m enormously grateful to my agent, Suzie Townsend, whose enthusiasm for this idea gave me the confidence to push forward with it, despite my fears. And I’m also thankful to Linnea Sinclair, my critique partner, who listened patiently as I rambled through the concept and then said, “Do it.”

As always, I feel incredibly lucky to be working on a story I’m so passionate about, and I’m looking forward to sharing with you more details about 738 Days in the coming weeks/months! 🙂
