EDITED TO ADD: Thank you so much for participating in the Winter Young Adult Scavenger Hunt! The Hunt is now closed. I hope you had fun! ๐Ÿ™‚

I will be posting the three winners for the mini-contest here on Monday. Please check back to see if you’ve won. You’ll have twenty-four hours to email me with a mailing address.

Thank you again! I hope you all discovered some awesome new books to try!

Stacey ๐Ÿ™‚

Welcome to YA Scavenger Hunt! This tri-annual event was first organized by author Colleen Houck as a way to give readers a chance to gain access to exclusive bonus material from their favorite authors…and a chance to win some awesome prizes! At this hunt, you not only get access to exclusive content from each author, you also get a clue for the hunt. Add up the clues, and you can enter for our prize–one lucky winner will receive one signed book from each author on the hunt in my team! But play fast: this contest (and all the exclusive bonus material) will only be online for 72 hours!

Go to the YA Scavenger Hunt page to find out all about the hunt. There are TWO contests going on simultaneously, and you can enter one or both! I am a part of the BLUE TEAM–but there is also a red team for a chance to win a whole different set of twenty-five signed books!

If you’d like to find out more about the hunt, see links to all the authors participating, and see the full list of prizes up for grabs, go to the YA Scavenger Hunt homepage.

Directions: Below, you’ll notice that I’ve included my favorite number somewhere in the content. (Hint: look for the number in BLUE.) Collect the favorite numbers of all the authors on the blue team, and then add them up (don’t worry, you can use a calculator!).

Entry Form: Once you’ve added up all the numbers, make sure you fill out the form here to officially qualify for the grand prize. Only entries that have the correct number will qualify.

Rules: Open internationally, anyone below the age of 18 should have a parent or guardian’s permission to enter. To be eligible for the grand prize, you must submit the completed entry form by Sunday, December 2, at noon Pacific Time. Entries sent without the correct number or without contact information will not be considered.

Today, I’m hosting TRACY DEEBS for the Scavenger Hunt! Tracy collects books, English degrees and lipsticks and has been known to forget whereโ€”and sometimes whoโ€”she is when immersed in a great novel. At six she wrote her first short storyโ€”something with a rainbow and a princeโ€”and at 7 she forayed into the wonderful world of girls lit with her first Judy Blume novel. From the first page of that first book, she knew she’d found her life-long love. Now a writing instructor at her local community college, Tracy writes YA novels that run the gamut from dark mermaids and witches to kissing clubs and techno-Armageddon stories… and she still has a soft spot for Judy Blume.

Check out Tracy’s website for additional info or learn more about her latest book here.

If I could move things with my mind, I would use that ability to do stuff I want to do but don’t want to do because that would mean work for me, and I’m sort of lazy. Sort of. For example I would use it to turn off the lights, close the door, get the mail…

If I could move objects with my mind, I would use it to reach objects that are too high or lift objects that are too heavy.

Well, beyond shut off the light when Iรขโ‚ฌโ„ขm done reading without getting out of bed… I would shoot small things, like a pen cap or chalk, in the people who are making noise while I’m reading. ๐Ÿ˜ˆ hahuahau

I’d become really lazy and just move things with my mind instead of doing them myself, such as bring me food, turn off the lights etc. I’d also mess with the minds of people who are being mean, Matilda-style haha.

If I had that power, I would probably become more lazy than I am right now. Depending upon how ‘strong’ my power is, I’ll just think the dishes away and loaded and the dishwasher running from the couch–while reading this book!! ๐Ÿ™‚ I would just think dinner cooked and brought to me, in my bed; while reading another book from this fabulous hunt! So, I’m pretty glad I don’t have it…..majority of the time ๐Ÿ™‚

If I could choose my super power I would love to heal things and people. Like flowers when they are about to die or birds when they are hurt.

Thanks a lot for the chance and for being part of YASH ๐Ÿ˜€

I’d use that ability to do the simple/not-so-simple stuff that I don’t want to do when I’m lazy and maybe play tricks on people now and then ;D Plus, I’d use it to reach high objects since I’m short.

I think I would use the power to move my iPod to me and hear music and when I`m sleepy there`s no need to stand up and put it again the table. The same with books!

I would have to say that I would use the ability to be really lazy. Like clean my house, without having to lift a finger. I would also use it to bring new books to me, without having to get up! So many things to do with that kind of power.

If I had the ability to move objects with my mind…
I would probably be very fat because Id use it for all my everyday stuff. ex: get me food from my kitchen, brush my teeth for me, spoon my cereal for me… Id be kindof like that one scene in the movie “Matilda” when she is learning to use her powers.

If I could move things with my mind I would want to be able to clean the house like Matilda did in the movie version. That would be incredible cool, especially since I have three children, the oldest being 5!
