This was a great park and im extremely upset that it closed down, I went there in 2002 and had no idea it was closed, I live in tx and was pretty excited to take my baby and husband to see this place as we are on our way to orlando, im so sad that this park is closed for those of you who didnt visit when it was open it was such a terrific place, thanks for respecting what is left of it, your pics were heart breaking!!

WOW! How exciting. I am doing an International Marketing assignment on Florida Splendid China, so when I googled “the fall of Florida Splendid China” I stumbled upon your article. I loved the pictures you took, they are priceless. I practice Buddhism, so this particular venue/park is of great interest to me, now that I’m aware of its existence. I hope to see it before they tear it completely down. Thanks again for sharing the photos and for your article.

Thank you so much for being one of the law abiding citizens to visit this property…Yes, it WAS a very COOL place. But due to young adults that would rather destroy than enjoy there is Law enforcement security 24 hours a day…Most all of the buildings(which are being torn down) that are left and very few statues(because of paint and breaking)dont hold the beauty they once did..There is a $10,000 fine if caught on property.(It is considered a construction area).You can view it on google earth.(tho this is old footage.3 to 4 years old. THanks to terrorist that would use it to harm).Enjoy and thank you for being honest..and not entering the property. I hold an interest in the security of this property..

It was pretty decent when we were there, weather-wise, considering what it was like here in Illinois at the time. Rainy, cool, blah.

Of course, now it’s like 80 and sunny here at home. Which I LOVE.

Still, I’d definitely do the Florida thing again, and there’s still plenty of things to see/do in the Orlando area for sure. Plus, my mentor lives in Naples and I love visiting her!

I know, right? It’s the combo that appeals to me, the cool and the creepy! Also, after having watched Life After People way too much, I now desperately want to visit all the abandoned places they keep showing!

I think I saw whatever show that was with the skaters there (was it on MTV?)… But now I want to go there, of course without the whole getting arrested bit.

And Florida is having the strangest weather, lately…I feel bad for everyone here for Spring Break because it hasn’t been very warm.

But Disney, the ocean and heated pools area ll pretty amazing, so..
